It is very important to stay constant in your channel concept to ensure that your subscribers remain loyal and return. But how do you know what aspect of your videos is of interest to your subscribers so that you can reproduce it in the future? Looking at video views alone is not a good enough reference. Videos become popular for various reasons but even if they have a high number of views from other sources they could still be really low in terms of subscriber views. To get a good idea of what your subscribers want to be watching, it’s best to look at subscriber views over a series of videos.
For this, Wizdeo partners can access the tool “Wiztracker."
Wiztracker is a tool developed by Wizdeo that allows you to access advanced statistics about your channel (more extensive than in YouTube analytics). With this data, you can easily find the information needed to improve your programming. For instance, by looking at the statistics of each video accumulated over the first 7 days following upload, you can determine the videos that have generated the most subscriptions as well as those that your subscribers watched the most.
Videos with the best subscriber contribution
When looking at your Wiztracker statistics, be careful not to compare statistics that are non-compatible. For instance, it is important to look at videos with upload dates that are close. It is of absolutely no interest to compare a video that was put online at the channel’s launch with one that was published when the channel already had 10,000 subscribers. In other words, it is useless to sort videos by the % of subscriber contribution so make sure you only compare videos of the same period. Similarly, it is not worth comparing videos from periods where your publication rate was not the same.
By looking at the subscriber contribution, you can get an idea of whether or not you have a good publication rate. In the image below, you can see what happens to your subscriber contribution when you upload too many videos at the same time. It is important to space out your publication rate because when faced with too many choices, your subscribers probably won’t take the time to watch each of your videos (which in turn has an effect on how YouTube promotes your video). The subscriber contribution can also enable you to clearly identify the video content that attracts your subscribers the most.
Videos that generated the most subscribers
For the number of subscribers earned by video, you can sort the videos by “most views” to find which ones really contributed to the growth of your channel’s subscriber-base. Below for the channel “AgeofNoobz,” we can see that there were three video types where the number of subscribers gained was the highest:
• The series “Corostor,” notably the first episode (users subscribe so that they don’t miss the following episodes)
• The video from the channel’s launch
• A role play competition
