Like other social networks, YouTube gets serious about hashtags. And it's a good opportunity for you to boost the chances of your channel being more visible.
Hashtags have invaded the internet for a while now and YouTube now allows you to use them to be referenced differently on the platform!
By placing a hashtag in the title of your videos or in the description, these become now clickable links. By clicking on this link, the user has access to all videos sharing the same hashtag.
YouTube takes into account the hashtag in the title and then the first three hashtags in the video description.
USE HASHTAGS TO TOUCH A NEW AUDIENCE
In the same way that the use of keywords allows you to be better referenced in the searches, adding hashtags on your videos will allow a new audience to find your videos by searching about a specific subject.
Especially since the algorithm does not shows the same videos depending on whether the keyword is in the form of hashtag or not (see screenshot below).
BE CAREFUL TO RESPECT THE RULES
Hashtags are also subject to the YouTube Community Guidelines. For example, it is forbidden to use hateful hashtags, of a sexual nature, or to use hashtags unrelated to the subject of the video in order to attract a public with a false pretext.
You can find all the rules related to hashtags on this post.
